Lumino, Casola Koppe’s latest project, officially received Calgary Planning Commission approval on June 25, 2009. This mixed use residential /commercial project by Kanas Corporation is located in the community of Manchester in South Central Calgary, close to Chinook Center. When completed, it will provide a total of 331 residential units on almost a full city block with 5 townhomes and additional commercial space at street level.

The first phase (tower A) will house 88 affordable housing units for Calgary Housing Corporation while tower B will provide rental units and tower C will provide units to be sold at market value. The enclosed parkade which stretches across the majority of the site, creates a landscaped podium that will provide secured daycare play areas, common outdoor space, community gardens, access to all residential units and visitor parking. The plaza will also have a multi use common play area that will support a variety of activities such as an ice rink in the winter and numerous sports activities in the summer.

The project is aiming for a Platinum Built Green designation and is being designed to a LEED Gold target designation.

Construction is expected to begin October of 2009.
